Preparing for an On-Time Departure

 We got up earlier than the alarm, were highly efficient getting dressed, and are enjoying one last hotel breakfast before we leave Moab for Grand Junction, CO.

They had maple cinnamon and regular waffles today.  Carmen and Jane both expertly portioned theirs for no spillage.

Our new favorite K-Pop Idol

This morning we had a scheduled tour that started at 8 AM, an early start we could manage. Due to ticket restrictions, the tour time had to be moved and we had to be at the bus at 6:20 AM for a 7 hour bus tour. When Jane and I woke up, Joel had already been up and showered. He proposed a crazy idea, that we ditch the tour and go back to bed. Surprised at the proposition, we couldn’t argue with the logic so we all just fell back asleep until about 10 AM.  It was a vacation indulgence.   After that, we worked on packing up our stuff for the airport tomorrow so we don’t have to do that in the morning. All packed, we headed for Gangnam again, this time for a K-Pop dance class (obviously for Jane only).  We booked private dance lessons for Jane at the K-Pop training academy, a huge institution that’s churning out potential K-Pop band members, with both vocal and dance training. A Whole New World

This plane ride was no trouble except when Jane broke out in hives.  I gave her Benadryl on the plane and it cleared up fast, but the Benadryl made her sleepy and loopy.  We have no idea what caused the hives but it’s not the first time. Also of note, we ate the best airline meal we had ever had, a breakfast that hit the spot.   After a reasonably comfortable flight, we Arrived!  We easily went through Immigration, found our driver, picked up a wifi hotspot, and arrived at our hotel.  Picking up a wifi hotspot Our driver made all of this easy. We were impressed at how clean, modern, and developed the area was, especially Seoul.  We all liked this building’s name.  Our hotel is fantastic, no complaints. We got a room on the 28th floor with a stellar view around us. It was a nail biter.

  Fully checked in for our flight to South Korea at the airport yesterday, we still planned to arrive 2 hours early to ensure our bags were checked correctly.  Our diligent Uber driver (THANKS Pop!) arrived a bit early, and we were all set to load up by 4:45. (special thanks to Pop for being the most reliable Uber driver in the city!). I did a last minute phone check on our flight status to discover that our San Antonio flight was very delayed, too delayed, and we wouldn’t make our connection at DFW.  There were no other flight options offered.  A quick call to AA confirmed we must leave for Seoul tomorrow and that no other flight option existed today.   Undeterred, we made the instant decision to make a break for DFW by car and try to get on that flight.  Leaving by 5 AM, the best we could strive for was to arrive an hour before our flight departed and hope for the best at the airport.  As Joel put it, our drive had happy times and sad times, as...
